Unwelcome

Written in response to ‘Weekend Writing Prompt #163‘ , hosted by Sammi Cox.

When Alex was young, he was very good in academics and sports. He was one of the toppers of the class and he was equally good in external activities. He was a favourite of the teachers as well as the students. His friends held their head up high because they were β€˜Alex’s friends’. But whenever he visited their home, he almost always became the villain. Their parents always compared them with Alex and they were scolded in front of all. They never liked it. So Alex was actually an unwelcome guest.

A/N: Definitely disappointed here. I think I could have done a lot better than this.

  1. Harsh , Its great , I love it when it’s simple n elegant! As the saying goes .. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication

about the content , I could totally relate .. I was a topper and β€˜ the unwelcome guest β€˜ in good old school days ☺️☺️☺️

  2. Why the disappointment? You did well. Infact, the end was unexpected. Nice twist to the story. I loved it and I’m sure, everyone else did too.❀️

Maybe you wanted to write this piece in a much better way but, it didn’t go well as your wanted it to be. That’s okay! We all are learning and we all will keep learning.😊

    Keep writing, bud!πŸ€—

  3. Oh Harsh.. there is nothing to be disappointed about this one. Even if you write a simple piece, and even if you do not make use of your vocab, if the readers can relate to your work and pull a chord somewhere, then you are a success. And am sure many of us here can relate to this one ☺️

      1. Harsh.. do not call me ma’am..I am not in any way superior to you except maybe the age factor πŸ˜›
everyone has such days dear…do not overthink. Sit and watch those days pass by. You will be greeted with a better tomorrow πŸ™‚ and talk it out to someone who will listen and understand you πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

        1. But the age factor is important, right? πŸ˜›πŸ˜‚
I agree with you. Such days come and go. These things happen.
          And I don’t think I am much of a talker. I work alone.πŸ™ƒ
